![]() ![]() If the creators just made a happy ending in the 3rd game, instead of making a bad one though, it would not affect anything other than everyone would be happy except the creators. In other words, the creators added info in to completely void any ways of changing it, since the creators can say what they want and that makes it true. *****Since Deponia 4 exists we will never have a different happy ending in the trilogy since Deponia 4 explained in every way on why the canon ending is the only one. Hence why the happy ending would never happen. If saving Rufus would never cause the "happy" ending then the Utopians would have no reason to stop it. This is proven due to the elephants stopping Rufus from being saved. ***The reason I never bring up the possible ending of Goal saving Rufus from his fall is because it would be the same ending as the happy ending. Same thing as how Rufus survives in the 3rd possible ending, despite, Elysium crashing back into Deponia too. *Goal is only alive because the creators of the game let her live in this scenario. But it might not be big enough to minimize the damage and in the end, everyone on Deponia is dead except for Goal (since Utopia's people perished from Elysium crashing, Deponia's people would most likely too). On top of that, Deponia is obviously much bigger than Utopia, since it needs more than a single spaceship crash to blow it up (hence the 1st ending having a still intact Deponia). ![]() ***The only reason Elysium crashes back into Deponia, in the actual ending, is because Cletus could not think of a proper working Rufus maneuver (since he is clearly not Rufus). I would have preferred all 3 Rufus, Cletus, and Argus dying instead. I hate that Cletus pretty much gets her, that was the main thing that bothered me. Them being together on Elysium is a plus though. This is my favourite ending because they are actually together and alive and the closest I will ever see to a full, awake Goal, bonding with Rufus (we barely see this in the trilogy Goal is either unconscious, split up into 3, or she is gone due to unforeseen circumstances).Īll I ever wanted out of the ending is Rufus and Goal being together, where Goal is not in a state that stops her from bonding with Rufus and that I get to see them actually have some proper romance. Rufus and Goal are stuck together in the time loop. Now, the final ending and the best one honestly, even though I hate things repeating. (This is the other worse ending because it is literally the same outcome of the happy ending except that it is Deponia and Elysium being destroyed instead of Utopia and Elysium.) We see the whole thing unfold where, Goal dies from the fall, Fewlocks rule the world, and Rufus is the last alive to then detonate the world using the atom bombs. This is also the detail that people did not catch on to.)īut, if Rufus and Goal end up falling with the time machine. This is why I use a question mark for this ending. The Utopians come back from time travelling, to find out their planet is no more and everyone died. (We find this out when the Utopians explain that, later on the Deponians/Elysians launch Elysium directly into their planet. So, lets assume his plan keeps Deponia alive) which obviously works and it ends up working too well, since, it actually causes Elysium to crash into Utopia and killing everyone including the planet. Since, Rufus seems to be incapable of such destruction without multiple atom bombs. Then what would happen is that Rufus makes it on to Elysium and he ends up creating a plan to launch Elysium (not sure fully if Deponia would get destroyed in the process. ![]() If this did not happen and we got our "happy" ending, that I wish we got (before I found this bit of info out) if we take into account the 4th game, which, by the way is actually one of the worse endings of them all (the creators were nice enough to spare us from seeing this ending). (I will explain why this is the case soon) To further this tragic ending Elysium crashes back into Deponia killing everyone except Goal and most likely wiped out all the Deponians but not the planet. This ending is tragic because Rufus dies and Cletus takes Rufus' place and Rufus loses everything, including his life and identity. To start off, the canon ending which is the actual one. Rufus and Goal are stuck in the time loop forever. Rufus and Goal fall from the time machine leading to Rufus, later, destroying Deponia. Rufus lived and is now on Elysium with Goal, happily ever after(?) I will explain the question mark soon Rufus dies after sacrificing himself to save everyone. This is because people forget one little detail (probably was overlooked or no one caught on to it), which actually made me more sad about the ending because no matter what, the ending is tragic for everyone. ![]()
